Se os números a, b, c estão em PA, então uma das propriedades das PA' s é que:

b=(a+c)/2

 

 

Assim:

 

 

[tex]3x+1=\frac{1+(4x-2)}{2}\rightarrow 2.(3x+1)=1+4x-2\rightarrow 6x+2=4x-1[/tex] 

 

[tex]6x+2=4x-1\rightarrow2x=-3\rightarrow x=\frac{-3}{2}[/tex]

2 + 6x = 4x-2 +1

 

6x-4x=-2-2+1

 2x = -3

 

x =-3/2
